Perfection

Yesterday my mom and I drove into Chicago early to go violin shopping. We carted all three violins that we had on loan about three blocks and rode the elevator [with operator!] to the fifth floor. We had to wait for a few minutes because somebody was in the tryout room with a couple of fifty thousand dollar violins...but then they decided to go out for lunch and left.

Anyway, I tried out violins for about two hours and ended up bringing home two French violins...one from 1798, the other from 1931. [I am liking the 1798 one best. It has a really huge range.] It was fun trying different instruments in that room because it was huge and boomy. One wall was almost entirely glass and looked out on the lake and the parks. It was in the French-ish inspired area where the metra signs and whatnot are in that Parisian script thing...and I sort of forgot where I was.

Then mom and I went to China Tizown for lunch at Joy Yee's. Deliciousss! I got a kiwi sprite...even though I just bought kiwis this week so I could make them at home. Nothing beats the real deal. Embarassingly enough, I was wearing a yellow blouse and sort of blended into the wall. But hey. XD

After that we went to the book store I like and bought a few things. As I was leaving I saw a magnet that I had really wanted to buy the last time I was there [ie- during the polar party with Andy, KF, and Sung-Hee in early January] and she just gave it to me, even though it was totally three dollars. WHAT A NICE LADY! Later we went to the grocery store, the toy store, and the bakery.

On the way back home we stopped at another violin shop in the suburbs to return another violin we had on loan. I bought two new shoulder rests there and my dream case. :] And that was that.

When I got home I practiced for two hours without realizing it just because I liked the 1798 violin so much. So, now I have a pulled muscle in my back and it hurts to breathe. I feel lame.

Mutation

Yesterday was honestly THE weirdest day I have had all school year. Up until then this year has really just been average in every sense...but all 24 hours of yesterday were completely "WTF" worthy.

-I got called OUT of CWR to go work on the paper [usually it's the other way around...me begging to get out]

-Watched a horrific assembly [mostly kept my head in my lap and my ears plugged so as not to have to look at scores of mutilated bodies...seriously, administration, WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT!? Three kids passed out!]

-Went to career day. Scored a job shadow with the two ladies who came from the Register Star. [!!!]

-Went out to lunch with Sam Knox. Caused an accident in the parking lot...right after that assembly about driving safe. Geeeez.

-Got cute/weird texts/a note in my locker. Weird in a good way, I think, though. :]

-Went to the Boylan musical to see some of my friends in it...and found that the rest of my pals from Catholic gradeschool have MUTATED. [Seriously, all the boys I was friends with way back one have ALL hit five-foot-eleven at least! And they're all broad-shouldered, deep-voiced, and practically unrecognizable except for the few I talked to. Especially one, actually. My BFF.]

I like where we are when we drive in your car. I like where we are here.

I Know Now

...that those eyelash wish moments are by far the cutest

...that you shouldn't always agree with your first thought

...that I like holding hands

I actually kind of love this musical. I'm not going to lie. :]

Living

For some reason, school got cancelled for today. There are not excessive amounts of snow on the ground. In fact, you can see mucho grass, at least in my yard. It is not terribly windy. Trees and streets are not iced over. It is not even that cold out. (I mean, it is -.9 degrees, but it has been much colder and we've still gone to school). What's the big deal?

I have no complaints (see below), I just really don't understand what all these schools cancelled for.

On the bright side, I now I have time to pack for All-State, do the massive amounts of makeup homework that I still have left to do, make myself a nice breakfast and eat  it over a period longer than five minutes. YAY! And don't forget I now have countless hours to practice. Sweet!

I have so much to look forward to right now. Next month, visiting the world's most polite boy in Pittsburgh, the next month 42nd Street, the next month getting visited by Bradley and The Rocket Summer, the next month just finishing up school, and the next month Austria. :]

I can't wait. I cannot wait.

Surprises!

1) Bradley Hathaway is coming to MY school. :D

2) Gloria Jean's is closing on January 27th due to Barnes & Noble sucking majorly.

3) However, I have an interview at Meg's on Friday? Lame consolation prize, as I will miss everyone at Glo Jo's dearly, but life goes on.

4) The episode of Project Runway on right now is HILARIOUS.

5) My first ever violin teacher is dealing with some major issues right now. I wish her the best. :[

6) I am having an asthma attack...  WAAAH!

Here is the church and here is the steeple, we sure are cute for two ugly people...
